Indian ace Mahesh Bhupathi and his Croatian partner Mario Ancic made it to the semi-finals in the US $475,000 China Open after upsetting the third seeded American pair of Eric Butorac and Travis Parrott in Beijing on Thursday.
The duo won the quarter-final 7-6, 3-6, 10-6.
After taking the opening set, Bhupathi and Ancic allowed their opponents to come back into the match but held their nerve to emerge victorious in a super tie-break.
They will take on Kristian Pless of Denmark and Thailand's Danai Udomchoke for a place in the final of the hardcourt event.
Pless and Udomchoke were given a walkover by top seeds Ivo Karlovic of Croatia and Rogier Wassen of the Netherlands.
