Andre Agassi will begin an emotional farewell appearance at Wimbledon against little-known Serbian Boris Pashanski in the first round on Tuesday.

The 1992 champion, who will retire following the U.S. Open later this year, would like nothing more than to end his career by lifting a second title at the All England Club.

While the 36-year-old American will hope his ageing body holds up against Pashanski, his potential third-round opponent, French Open champion Rafael Nadal, will be eager to prove his grasscourt credentials against British wildcard Alex Bogdanovic.

With organisers hoping to clear a backlog of matches after rain allowed only 35 minutes of play on Monday, several top players including women's champion Venus Williams have had their starts put back until Wednesday.

Rain frustrates Federer, Clijsters

Men's champion Roger Federer and women's second seed Kim Clijsters, who had brief run-outs on Monday, have matches to finish against accomplished grasscourt players.

Federer is 6-3 1-2 up against French 20-year-old Richard Gasquet, who won the Nottingham warmup event on Saturday and almost beat Federer at Halle the previous week.

The Swiss needs one win to break Bjorn Borg's record of 41 consecutive victories on grass.

Clijsters is 5-4 up against Russian Vera Zvonareva, who won at Edgbaston a week ago.

Switzerland's 1997 champion Martina Hingis will finish her first match at Wimbledon in five years against Olga Savchuk of Ukraine on court two. She romped through the first set 6-2.
