Jose Mourinho was full of praise for his Chelsea team after their 3-1 win at Manchester United in the Premier League on Tuesday.

He said, however, that for the champions to be considered great they had to win the title once or twice more in the five years of his contract.

Asked if he could see Chelsea retaining the crown they clinched at Bolton on April 30 with three games to spare, he said: "I don't say next season because Man United is Man United and Arsenal is Arsenal.

"And I think also Liverpool and maybe another team will be fighting for that so in such an important league like we have I cannot say (to the players) if you don't win the league you failed," he told Sky Sports.

"But I have to say in my five-year contract if we don't repeat the championship once or twice more I would say we don't have a really great team but this season we were absolutely fantastic, only one defeat (so far), a record of points..."

Chelsea set a Premier League record of 94 points which they could increase to 97 with victory in their last match away to Newcastle United on Sunday.

Mourinho said his players had shown the same hunger in the match that had characterised their season even though the title was already theirs.

"I don't like to play matches without pressure, I like the pressure to win...I think we got motivation from the record," he said..

"The players played with very fresh minds, (it was a) fantastic quality of football.

"I think it's the perfect way to beat the record in such an amazing stadium (Old Trafford) against big Man United, against a team which has in Sir Alex (Ferguson) a big example of success and fair play," Mourinho said.
