Real Madrid want to sign Everton's Danish international midfielder Thomas Gravesen in the next few days, according to the player's agent John Sivebaek.
"We have been talking to Real Madrid, but nothing has been signed yet," Sivebaek was quoting as telling Spanish media on Thursday.
"We are now aware of Real's interest first hand. The player would like to play at Real Madrid, but as yet there is no agreement between the two clubs.
"Real would like him to leave now, but it's not in my hands, it's up to Everton."
Spanish media reported that Sivebaek had been in Madrid on Tuesday and Wednesday and would now be heading to Liverpool to open talks with Everton.
The reports said Real would offer Everton around three million euros ($3.97 million) for the 28-year-old midfielder, whose Everton contract expires at the end of the season.
Real have struggled in midfield since the departure of French ball-winner Claude Makelele to Chelsea at the start of last season after Real refused him a salary increase.
