The victory in SAFF Cup has seen India jump eight places to climb to 127th in the latest FIFA rankings released on Monday.

India, who beat Bangladesh 2-0 in the just-concluded SAFF championship in Karachi, has now 355 points, gaining 31 from previous month, to stay six places ahead of SAFF tournament semifinalist Maldives (133rd) and 31 places ahead of Pakistan (158th).

SAFF tournament runners-up Bangladesh are at 160, while Sri Lanka and Nepal are at 144th and 175th respectively.

India's neighbours China are placed at 72nd, slipping three places from last month.

Brazil retained the top spot and the top ten saw only two changes from the previous week. The world champions were followed by Czech Republic, Netherlands and Argentina.

Mexico moved up two places to share fifth position with Spain, which also moved up one place, and France. United states, England and Portugal retained their places to round off the top ten.

Traditional powerhouse Italy and World Cup hosts Grermany also remained static at 12th and 16th respectively.

Among the Asian countries, Japan leads the pack at 15th, followed by Iran (19th), South Korea (29th) and Saudi Arabia (33rd).

In the African countries, world cup discards Cameroon (22nd) are the highest ranked, followed by Nigeria (24th) and qualifier Tunisia (28th).
