A three-goal blitz in the second-half gave Vasco, Goa, an emphatic 4-1 victory over Indian Bank, Chennai, in their second leg match in the seventh Oil PSU National Football League in Chennai on Tuesday.

Vasco, who are placed fourth in the points table, struggled to score in the first 30 minutes of the match as the bankmen managed to keep their  forwards at bay.

But the Goa side opened the floodgates in the 31st minute when Satish Minz booted home from close range, following a free-kick taken by Brazilian forward Marcos Pereira.

Leading 1-0 at the breather, they started the second-half on a more positive note as Riston Rodrigues took just 10 minutes to make it 2-0, taking advantage of a defensive lapse.

However, Indian Bank reduced the margin in the next minute when Sri Lankan forward Jayasuriya converted a penalty after he was tripped by Selwyn Fernandes.

The bankmen squandered an opportunity to level the score soon after when Jayasuriya shot another penalty straight to Vasco's Brazilian goalkeeper Rogerio Ramos.

Vasco then put the issue beyond their opposition when Angelo Gomes and Marcos Pereira scored the third and fourth goals to make it an impressive victory.
