in Mallorca Open

Former World doubles champions Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi won the Mallorca Open tennis tournament in Spain, easily beating Julian Knowle of Austria and Michael Kohlmann of Germany 6-2, 6-4 in the final on Sunday.

The Indian pair, who split for the second time in their careers in March but renuited for this tournament, picked 35 points and US $21,900 from the triumph. It was their 22nd doubles title.

Prior to this tournament, Paes and Bhupathi had suffered a three-match losing streak together, and also with different partners after their recent split.
