Railways, Haryana, Punjab
in semi-finals

Defending champions Railways, Haryana and Punjab entered the semi-finals in 51st National women's hockey championship, scoring convincing victories in their league matches in Jalandhar on Thursday.

Railways thrashed Karnataka 9-0 in Pool 'A', Haryana drubbed Air India 8-0 in Pool 'D' and Punjab defeated Delhi 6-0 in Pool 'B'.

In other league matches, Orissa edged out Tamil Nadu 1-0 in Pool 'C' while Chandigarh and Jharkhand played a goalless draw in Pool 'A'.

The fourth semi-final berth will be decided on Friday after Orissa plays Mumbai in a Pool C league match. The winner of the match will meet Railways.

In the other semi-final, Haryana plays hosts Punjab.
