Hingis reaches another Indian Wells final

A ruthless Martina Hingis brushed aside Monica Seles 6-3, 6-2 at the $2.1 million Indian Wells Masters on Thursday to reach her fourth final in five events this season.

Hingis, who has not dropped a set in five matches, needed just 59 minutes on a chilly centre court to claim her 15th win in 19 meetings with fourth seed Seles and advance to the Indian Wells final for the third time in five visits to the desert tournament.

Second seed Hingis was not broken in the opening set and was also seldom challenged in the second after roaring into a 3-0 lead.

Daniela Hantuchova will provide the opposition on Saturday, the impressive 18-year-old Slovakian going through with a 4-6, 6-0, 6-4 semifinal win over Hingis's Swiss compatriot Emmanuelle Gagliardi.
