Soumyadeep, Mouma reign supreme

Top seed and holder Soumyadeep Roy of PSCB survived an early scare before retaining the Senior National table tennis title.

In the final, in Delhi, on Saturday, he rallied splendidly after losing the first game to beat Railways' Saurav Chakraborty 17-19, 11-4, 11-7, 11-8, 11-8 .

In the women's final, Mouma Das defeated Montu Ghosh (both PSCB) 11-4, 11-8, 11-5, 11-8 to win the title.

In the men's doubles final, played earlier in the day, Anal Kashyap and Arunava Ganguly of Rajasthan triumphed, defeating the Delhi pair of Rajeev Ghai and Ajay Jha 7-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-3.

In the women's category, last year's runners-up the PSCB pair of Poulami Ghatak and Mouma Das beat Mantu Ghosh (PSCB) and Anindita Chakraborty (Railway) 11-7, 11-5, 10-12, 11-9 to emerge supreme.

Ranabir Das and Anindita Chakrabarty of Railways had on Friday scraped past the PSCB pair of Arup Basak and Mouma Das to clinch the mixed doubles title.
