Sania enters quarters in Egypt tournament

Sania Mirza advanced into the quarter-finals of the Smash tennis international junior grade-3 tournament, being played in Cairo, Egypt.

Top seed Sania crushed Rana Ramez of Egypt in straight sets conceding just two games in the 35-minute encounter and won 6-0, 6-2.

She next faces Eva Fernandez Brugues of Spain.

Meanwhile, the ranking of the Hyderabad girl has gone up as she is now ranked 25 in doubles and 32 in singles in the junior tennis.

Last year, Sania had lost to Khalifa Amani of Egypt in the singles final and won the doubles title with Marzovic Wana of Yugoslavia in the tournament.
