Sania to face Isha in final

Top seed Sania Mirza will take on second seed Isha Lakhani in the final of the ITF grade-2 junior tournament in Pretoria, South Africa.

The two Indians reached the final of an international tennis tournament abroad for the first time.

Sania rallied brilliantly to beat Kelly Andersen of South Africa after conceding the first set to win 3-6, 6-0, 7-5.

Sania had lost to Kelly in a tough semi-final at the last week's event in Pretoria.

In the other semi-final, Isha also had to pull out her best against compatriot and fourteenth seed Tara Iyer.

Tara, a newcomer in the ITF circuit, came back strongly to push the match into the decider before the second seed won 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

Earlier, the Indian trio had marched into the semis on Thursday.

In the doubles, top seeds Sania and Isha had to work hard to enter second successive final. The duo defeated South African pair of Roxanne Clarke and Taryn Rudman 7-6(7-5), 7-6(7-5) in their semi-final match.

They now will face second seeds Tammy Day and Tarryn Terblanche of South Afric in the final.

In the finals on Saturday, Isha will try to win her second grand double.

Isha had won grand double at the last week's event at Groenkloof tennis stadium.
