Radhika Tulpule bags double crown

Maharashtra's Radhika Tulpule crowned herself with glory, winning the singles and doubles titles in the third leg of the $5,000 ITF women's ranking tennis tournament at the Kolhapur District Lawn Tennis Association courts on Saturday.

In the singles final, Tulpule beat Isha Lakhani 7-6, 6-1.

In a keenly-fought first set, Tulpule raced ahead 4-0, before Lakhani clawed her way back to force a tie-breaker at 6-6.

However, Tulpule was more agressive in the second set which saw her race away with the match.

Earlier, in the doubles final, Tulpule, partnering Sai Jayalakshmi beat Archana Venkatraman and Suprita Sekar i-2, 6-2. to bag the title.
