India take 3-1 lead in Davis
Cup tie

Leander Paes beat Mark Neilsen in an energy sapping five setter 6-4, 6-3, 4-6, 2-6, 6-1 to give India an unbeatable 3-1 lead over New Zealand in the Davis Cup Asia-Oceania Group I tie in Wellington on Sunday.

Eariler, Paes combined well with Mahesh Bhupathi to wrap up their unfinished doubles tie 6-4 6-3 6-4 against Daniel Willman and James Shortall to put India 2-1.

The match was suspended due to poor weather yesterday with the Indians leading two sets to nil.
