Saudi Arabia held 2-2 as Iran strike late

Saudi Arabia were held to a 2-2 draw at home in their World Cup qualifier against Iran on Friday.

Sirous Dinmohammadi grabbed an equaliser for Iran with eight minutes left of their group A game.

Abdullah al-Waked put the Saudis ahead from the penalty spot but Ali Daei equalised three minutes before halftime.

Substitute Al-Hassan Al-Yami made it 2-1 to the home side in the 58th minute but Dinmohammadi's equaliser stunned the 25,000 home crowd.

Saudi Arabia top the group with 11 points from six games but Iran are threatening the automatic qualifying spot with nine points from five games.
