Anup Sridhar wins French jr. title

India's Anup Sridhar won the men's singles title in the second French Junior International badminton championships on Sunday.

In the final, at Echirolles, the 18-year-old Bangalore-based lad defeated Miha Sepec of Slovania 7-2, 4-7, 7-5, 7-1.

In the first round, Sridhar beat Pierre Bonhoure of France 7-0, 7-2, 7-2. Next, he accounted for Luka Petric of Solvenia 7-1, 7-2, 7-1. In the semi-finals, he beat team mate Nishad Dravid 7-0, 7-4, 7-2.

However, in the doubles final, the Indian pair of Nishad Dravid and Bahniman Borah lost to the French duo Thomas Quere and Erwin Kehloffner 4-7, 6-8, 3-7.

In the women's singles, India's Aditi Mutalekar lost to Belgium's Nathalie Deskamps 2-7, 7-2, 3-7, 5-7 in the semi-finals.
