Rios attacks cabbie, policemen in Rome-police

Marcelo Rios Marcelo Rios, a former world number one in men's tennis, attacked a taxi driver and two policemen in the early hours of Thursday soon after losing in the Rome Masters Series tournament, police said.

"A police complaint has been filed against Marcelo Rios for resisting arrest and injuring public officials," a police spokesman told Reuters.

Police said Chile's Rios, who lost 6-1 6-3 to Spain's Juan Carlos Ferrero in the second round of the Masters on Wednesday, was drunk at the time of the incident.
