ITI, SBT draw

State Bank of Travancore and Indian Telephone Industries, Bangalore, were engaged in a 1-1 draw in the 17th round of the fifth National Football League, in Thiruvananthapuram, on Saturday.

Nigerian Kenneth Ugwo scored first for ITI, in the seventh minute, while captain Suresh Babu found the equaliser for SBT in the fifth minute of the second half.

ITI forged ahead following a corner kick. Hamid Atia's shot travelled to Ugawo, who made no mistake in finding the net.

The bankmen dominated the second half and got the equaliser following a free-kick by Shaji. Skipper Suresh Babu headed home much to the relief of the home team's supporters.

The match was important for both the teams as they are facing the threat of relegation from the 12-team league. They figure at the bottom along with JCT and Air India.

ITI have 16 points, while SBT have 13.
