Oliver Marach picks second ITF title

Bombay leg winner Oliver Marach of Austria repeated the feat in Nagpur as he bagged the title in the second leg of the Indian Oil-Servo ITF mens's Satellite tennis championship.

Marach outplayed second seed Crotian Ivan Vajda 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 to win the singles final.

He dropped the opening set 6-7 as the left-handed Vajda played some superb cross-court shots which surprised him. However, he showed fighting qualities as he came back to win the second set 6-1. He broke Vajda each time except in the opening game to be on par.

It seemed that brief showers just before the start of the second set probably upset Vajda's rythm. However, in the final set, both the players displayed some vintage tennis in front of a good crowd.

Marach broke Vajda in the ninth to go ahead with some excellent backhand shots and clinch the match which lasted for 103 minutes.

In the doubles final, it was the Russian pair of Derepasko and Michel Elgin, who emerged champions, when they defeated the Indian pair of Nitin Kirtane and Saurav Panja 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
