PGAI clarifies

The Professional Golfers Association of India made a formal announcement on Monday on the commercial rights for the 2001-02 season of the Indian Tour, saying Tiger Sports Marketing Pvt. Ltd continue to hold the same.

Following media reports over the last few days, the Board of Management of the PGAI clarified that they have not invited any fresh bids from any party for the management and marketing of the tour.

"The PGA of India has an ongoing relationship with Tiger Sports Marketing Pvt. Ltd. and intends to continue with the same," PGAI president Pawant Kant Mumnaj said in a ststement.

The schedule of the events for the events for the 2001-02 season of the tour is expected to be released shortly by Tiger Sports. The announcement for a new Tour Sponsor is also expected to be made in the coming week.
