Abhinav Bindra on target

Indian Olympian Abhinav Bindra became to the first shooter in the world to bag four gold medals in a row when he performed the feat in the Munich leg of the ongoing European Rifle Circuit championship.

Performing consistently in the 15-series championship, Bindra has an aggregate of 591 points and trails former European champion Toni Mahaupt by just a point, a statement from the National Rifle Association said on Saturday.

In the final shoot-out at Munich, on Friday, Abhinav shot an aggregate of 101.3, with a last shot of a perfect 10.9, to scrape past Mahaupt of Germany, who shot 100.2.

With four golds and one silver in his kitty, Bindra is a clear favourite to stamp his authority on the championship, which continues with the next leg, to be held in Denmark from February 6 to 10.
