Manipur storm into semi-finals

Last year's runners-up Manipur stormed into the semi-finals, trouncing hosts Rajasthan 3-0, while favourites Goa were held goalless by Kerala, in the quarter-final league in 38th Junior National football championship, for the B C Roy Trophy, at the S M stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

Manipur, who had a direct entry into the quarter-finals, recorded their second successive victory after defeating Kerala in the opening encounter 1-0.

They dominated most part of the match against Rajasthan and led by 1-0 at half-time.

Striker Dijendra Singh, Hemin Guite and mid-fielder M S Genuius (Zenith) scored a goal each for Manipur, who will take on Goa in their last quarter-final league tie on Monday.

Goa were unlucky not to emerge winners against Kerala, as their strikers missed at least four sitters.
