Humpy suffers shock defeatWorld junior chess champion Koneru Humpy lost her first round match against the Asian junior champion Tejas Bakre (2446) in the First Saturday GM tournament, Budapest, Hungary.After the first round, Zlatko Ilincic (Yugoslavia), Tejas Bakre (India) and William Paschall (USA) lead the tournament with one point each. In the second round, Humpy will play with black peices against Gergely Antal (2426) of Hungary. The 13-round tournament, with an average ELO rating of 2451-plus, has attracted title aspirants from Hungary, Germany, Yugoslavia, USA, Argentina and India. The Bank of Baroda-sponsored Humpy is the youngest player in the tough tournament.
