Three Indian juniors triumph in HK squash

Three Indian juniors -- Alisha Mashruwala (girls' under-13), Gaurav Nandrajog (boys' under-17) and Nikita Emanuel (girls' under-11)-- won titles in their respective groups at the FujiFilm Hong Kong junior squash Open on Sunday.

Top seed Alisha Mashruwala sidelined Leung Shin of Hong Kong 9-4, 9-7, 9-7 in the final while Nandrajog pipped Kim Dong Woo of Korea 9-2, 4-9, 10-9, 9-6.

Ten-year-old Nikita Emanuel, seeded second, won her first international title when she rallied well, after dropping the first game 2-9, to shock top seed Lee Ka Man of Hong Kong 2-9, 9-5, 10-8, 9-4.

Bombay-based Naishad Lalwani lost his under-13 final match to top seed Mohammed Asyraf of Malaysia 3-9, 7-9, 2-9 while another Indian, Supreet Singh lost his semi-final match to Dick Lau of Hong Kong. However, he beat another local player Michael Chiu 2-9, 9-4, 9-1, 9-2 to finish third in his age group.
