JCT, F C Kochin in goalless draw

JCT Mills, Phagwara, and F C Kochin played a goalless draw in a fifth National Football league match, in Ludhiana, on Monday.

In a keenly contested match, both sides missed a number of scoring opportunities.

In the 25th minute of first half, FC Kochin could have forged ahead, but the crossbar came in the way of striker Sunday Seah's effort.

Ten minutes later, JCT's Shaminder Singh gave a pass to Hardeep Singh, whose header was deflected by the Kochin goalkeeper in the nick of time.

The second half saw attacking football from both sides, but neither could break the deadlock.

After 19 matches, JCT have 16 points while F C Kochin have 33.

The draw was a setback for F C Kochin, who are placed third on the 12-team league behind leaders East Bengal and Mohun Bagan.
