Hasko to meet Doran in ITF final

Top seed Juraj Hasko of Slovakia and qualifier John Doran of Ireland will clash in the final of the ITF Futures tennis tournament on Saturday.

Both players made the grade in contrasting styles, the former rallying splendidly to get the better of compatriot Branislav Sekac 6-7, 6-4, 2-0, and the Irishman scoring a surprisingly easy 6-3, 6-3 victory over No. 2 seed Viktor Bruthans of Slovakia.

The Hasko-Sekac match looked like going to the wire after the top seed came back strongly to take the second set following the narrow loss of the first. However, Sekac, his mobility hampered by an injury, conceded the match trailing 02 in the decider.

Earlier in the morning, Viktor Bruthans teamed with Branislav Sekac to clinch the doubles title, beating John Doran of Ireland and Kedar Shah of India 6-4, 7-5.

Results

Doubles final: Viktor Bruthans (Slovakia)-Branislav Sekac (Slovakia) bt John Doran (Ireland)-Kedar Shah (India) 6-4, 7-5.

Singles semi-finals: Juraj Hasko bt Branislav Sekac 6-7, 6-4 2-0 (Sekac conceded); John Doran bt Viktor Bruthans 6-3, 6-3.
