Razzak bereaved

Pakistan all-rounder Abdul Razzak lost his father on Sunday and was not part of the team which reached Sharjah on Tuesday for the three-nation Coca Cola Cup cricket tournament.

Pakistan captain Moin Khan was quoted as saying in Gulf News that, responding to the call of duty, Razzak will join the Pakistan squad on Wednesday in time for the Pakistan - India encounter on Thursday.

Razzak's excellent performance in the three-nation series in Australia recently won him the man-of-the-series award. He is now considered a key all-rounder in the Pakistan team.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan team for the tour of the West Indies and the Asia Cup, to be held in Bangladesh next month, will be announced in Sharjah on March 26, sources close to the team management were quoted as saying.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has asked injured all-rounder Azhar Mahmood and off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, currently undergoing treatment in England, to report for a fitness test in Sharjah on March 25.

Injured opener Saeed Anwar, who is also proceeding to London for treatment, is almost certain to get selected.
