Pillay feels award is a morale-booster for Olympics

Ace forward Dhanraj Pillay today expressed happiness on being nominated for this year's Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the highest honour bestowed by the government on the country's sportspersons, and said it is a morale-booster ahead of the Sydney Olympic Games.

Pointing out that India captain Ramandeep Singh too found a place in this year's national awards list, for the the Arjuna award, the mercurial striker said the nominations meant that hockey is getting due recognition.

Pillay, who Monday returned from Germany where he plays for Stuttgart Kickers club in the first division league, will proceed to Bangalore in a few days time to join the other India probables who are in the camp for September's Olympic Games.
