Indian Airlines National hockey champs

Star-studded Indian Airlines crushed Railways 3-0 in a fast-paced final of the 60th Senior national hockey championship, to retain the title in Jammu on Saturday.

After a goalless first half, Airlines captain Dilip Tirkey put his team ahead, before Borjen Singh and Mukesh Kumar could increase the tally.

In the play-off for the third place, 13-time champions Punjab edged past Punjab and Sind Bank 5-3.

Punjab, who were stunned by Railways in the semis, played with a vengeance as they took 3-1 lead before the breather.
