Zidane voted Euro 2000 best

France's Zinedine Zidane was on Thursday officially named best player at Euro 2000 by European football's governing body UEFA in Monaco.

Argentina's Fernando Redondo was declared best in Europe for last season while Manchester United's Jaap Stam of Holland was named the best defender.

Best player at Euro 2000: Zinedine Zidane (France/Juventus)

Best player of the season: Fernando Redondo (Argentina/AC Milan)

Best goalkeeper: Oliver Kahn (Germany/Bayern Munich)

Best defender: Jaap Stam (The Netherlands/Manchester United)

Best midfielder: Gaizka Mendieta (Spain/Valencia)

Best striker: Raul (Spain/Real Madrid)

Best coaches: Alex Ferguson (England/Manchester United) and Hector Raul Cuper (Arggentina/Valencia)

Best supporters: Dutch

Best goal at Euro 2000: David Trezeguet's (Fraance) - the golden goal winner in the final against Italy.

Fair play prize: Roger Lemerre (France)
