Ghadge brothers also swim Gibraltar Strait

The Ghadge brothers, Balasaheb, Ganesh and Vinod, successfully swam the Gibraltar Strait - - from Tarifa Island in Spain to Punta Cires in Morocco - - last Sunday, according to information available.

The three Bombay-based Maharashtra state government employees swam the 25-km distance in 5 hours and 17 minutes, according to a certification by Tarifa-based Rafael Gutierrez Mesa, who is the president of the Gibraltar Strait Swimming Association.

The swimmers were escorted by a boat and a Red Cross zodiac, the certificate said. It added that the swim commenced in a force 3 westerly wind which calmed down later.
