India 'A' thrashed

Australia 'A' comfortably beat India 'A' by 77 runs in the opening one-dayer of the five-match Moov America Challenge Cricket tournament at Woodley Park, Los Angeles, yesterday.

Having won the toss, Australia 'A' captain Adam Gilchrist elected to bat and the Australians piled up a modest 192 in the cloud-hit 47-over a side match.

In reply, the V V S Laxman-led India 'A' were miserably bundled out for 115 in 34.1 overs.

Andrew Symonds, who was named man-of-the-match, top-scored for the Aussies with 77 from 85 balls. Doda Ganesh was India's main wicket-taker, capturing three wickets for 36 runs.
