Nairobi to host 2000 ICC knock-out

Nairobi will host the 2000 International Cricket Council (ICC) one-day knock-out tournament between the nine Test playing nations, the ICC announced today.

In a statement, the ICC said the tournament would be staged from October 5-15 with the same format as the Wills International Cup, which was staged in Dhaka and won by South Africa last year.

''Kenya, like Bangladesh, has been awarded one-day status,'' said ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya. ''Bringing the knock-out to Kenya will give the game there a major boost.''
