Bangladesh to host Asia Cup

Bangladesh will stage the Asia Cup cricket tournament next April, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Saber Hossain Chowdhury announced yesterday.

The 16-day competition, which also involves India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, will begin on April 2. The top two from a round-robin league will contest the final.

The dates were finalised at a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Colombo earlier this week.

Bangladesh hosted the Asia Cup in 1988 and a mini World Cup in 1998.
