Bonanza for Pakistan cricketers

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a virtual bonanza for the country's cricket team.

If the team wins the Test series against Australia, each of its members will be entitled to receive Rs 5,00,000.

The board has already awarded Rs 2,00,000 to every member of the team which won the recent Toronto series as a special bonus.

Apart from the win bonus, a player who hits a double century will stand to earn Rs 2,00,000, while scoring a hundred or taking four catches or four wickets will fetch him Rs 1,00,000.

Khaleej Times said the board has also hiked the daily allowance from 50 U.S. dollars to 75 dollars with a revised meal allowance of 50 dollars.The players will stay in single room accommodation and travel club class.The new contract will be signed before the team leaves the country's shores for Sharjah to participate in the Coca Cola Cup tri-nation championship, beginning on Wednesday.

New PCB chief Mujibur Rehman, who was here for a meeting of the International Cricket Council (ICC) governing body, said: "The performance bonus package and all other perks being given to team players are part of my new approach to better the state of affairs in Pakistan cricket."
