Uniform guarantee money for Test-playing countries

The International Cricket Council (ICC), the international governing body of the game, has decided to formulate a uniform policy on the guarantee and appearance money for all Test-playing countries.

Previously, the guarantee money was a matter of mutual concern between the two boards concerned.

Khaleej Times quoted a source as saying that "during their three-day executive board meeting in Dubai, the ICC executive board considered a uniform formula on allocation of guarantee money between the hosts and the visiting boad".

ICC chief executive David Richards, however, declined to divulge anything about the meeting, saying the discussions were confidential.

"The meeting and its agenda were a confidential affair and we will be making everything public after approval by the board of directors," he said.
