Rain ruins Bangla-Windies match

Rain prevented a ball being bowled on the third and final day of the three-day match between Bangladesh and West Indies today.

The match was drawn after umpires S.B. Chowdhury and Mohammad Asgar ruled the pitch unfit for play following heavy rain in the morning.

''The outfield is totally wet and we cannot allow the match to proceed,'' Chowdhury said.

Bangladesh, 20 behind on first innings, had reached 59 for three in their second innings yesterday when bad light stopped play.

West Indies continue their short tour with two limited overs day-night internationals against Bangladesh on Friday and Saturday.
