Kumaran, Agarkar in ODI squad

The national selectors today decided to rest Javagal Srinath and Venkatesh Prasad for the remaining three one dayers.

In their place, the selectors picked T Kumaran, the Tamil Nadu fast-medium bowler who forced his way into the Australia-bound squad on the basis of a strong showing in the Irani Trophy this year, and brought back Ajit Agarkar to test his fitness after an injury layoff.

The selectors also rested Sadagopan Ramesh -- who in any case didn't play either of the two ODIs -- and brought Devang Gandhi into the side.

As announced, the team reads: Tendulkar, Ganguly, Gandhi, Dravid, Jadeja, Bharadwaj, Agarkar, Kumaran, Kumble, Chopra, Joshi, MSK Prasad and Debashish Mohanty.
