Mini World Cup in October 2000

The second ICC Knockout Tournament - billed as the Mini World Cup -- will be held in October 2000, ICC president Jagmohan Dalmiya announced.

Dalmiya said that the ICC would meet in September to decide about the venue for the Mini World Cup. The meeting would also decide about holding of a World Test Championship.

Disneyland in the United States, Kenya and Sharjah had expressed their willingness to host this meet.

Dalmiya also informed that the next ICC meet would be held in Canada during the year 2001.

The betting committee of the ICC was going through reports it had received from India and Australia. Before taking action it has to verify the allegations, Dalmia said.

He offered no comments on whether India would participate in Sahara Cup in view of the Kargil crisis.

He said that in his capacity of president of the Cricket Association of Bengal he is considering to send donation to the Kargil fund.
