Nayyar scores ton, as NZ pile huge score

Rajiv Nayyar scored a defiant hundred as North Zone scored a mammoth 467 in their first innings on the second day of the Duleep Trophy finals at the Eden Gardens, Calcutta against the West Zone.

Resuming their day at 267/4, North Zone took a heavy toll of some wayward bowling and built a huge score despite left arm spinner Nilesh Kulkarni's 5-wicket haul.

Rajeev Nayyar scored 106 runs of 248 balls with 15 hits to the fence and shared a 40-run partnership for the 9th and 10th wickets with Amit Bhandari and Robin Singh Jr. respectively.

In reply West Zone finished the day at 8 for no loss with openers Wasim Jaffer and Williams at the crease.
