Paes romps into last four

Leander Paes, Paradorn Srichphan, Jamie Delgado and Takahiro Terachi entered the singles semi-finals in the BPL-ATP Challenger Tennis tournament at the Oudh Gymkhana in Lucknow today.

Paes defeated Satoshi Iwabuchi of Japan 6-4, 6-4; Jamie Delgado of Britain beat defending Tuomas Ketola of Finland 4-6, 7-5, 6-2; top seed P. Srichphan beat Ivan Vajda of Croatia 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 and Takahiro Terachi of Japan shocked second seed Oleg Ogorodov of Uzebekistan 6-3, 4-6, 6-1.

In the semi-finals, Paes will meet Takahiro Terachi while P. Srichphan will play Jamie Delgado.

In doubles, the pair of Martin Lee /J. Delgado moved into the final, while M. Hromec and V. Platenik and P. Srichphan/K. Pless entered the semi-finals.

In a doubles semi-final match, M. Lee and J. Delgado beat T. Anzari/O. Ogorodov 6-7(2-7), 6-4, 6-3, while in the quarter finals, M. Hromec/V. Platenik beat M. Navarra/I. Milligan 6-4, 6-2 and P. Srichphan/ K. Pleass beat B.Cown/T. Ketola 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (7-3).
