Siddiqui appointed cricket team manager

G A Siddiqui of the Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) will be the manager of the Indian cricket team for the tours of Sri Lanka and Singapore.

Sharad Diwadkar, executive secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, announced in Bombay that Siddiqui has been appointed manager for both the tours, since the team will proceed to Singapore directly from Sri Lanka.

India play Sri Lanka and World Cup champions Australia in a triangular series in Sri Lanka from August 22. The Singapore tournament commences on September 2, with the West Indies and Zimbabwe, the other two teams, battling for honours along with India.
