Paes, Bhupathi coast through third round

India's Davis Cup stars, Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupathi, maintained their winning streak by defeating Lan Bale of South Africa and Danny Sapsford of Britain in straight sets, in a third round match of the US Open men's doubles tournament in New York.

Turning on the power, the Indian duo completely outplayed their opponents to win 6-0. 6-2.

Bhupathi also teamed off with Mirjana Lucic, the rising teen star from Croatia, to defeat Elena Likhovtseva of Russia and Menno Dosting of the Netherlands, 6-3, 6-3 in the mixed doubles events.

With this, the Bhupathi-Lucic combination, which first came together at Wimbledon this year and which has been getting good reviews since then, have moved into the quarterfinals.
