A vehicle of the United States consulate was targeted with a car bomb in Peshawar city in northwest Pakistan on Friday, killing one person and injuring 10 others, according to officials.
The blast occurred in Jamrud Road area of Peshawar on Friday morning, officials said. An armoured SUV from the US consulate bore the brunt of the blast and rammed into an electricity pylon.
No American national was seriously injured in the incident, a spokesman of the US embassy in Islamabad said.
The dead man was believed to be a passer-by. Doctors described the condition of one of the injured as serious.
Security forces cordoned off the site of the explosion and launched a search operation. No group has claimed responsibility for the blast
