The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court on Thursday sought status report on three points on a Public Interest Litigation seeking a Central Bureau of Investigation inquiry into the mysterious death of deputy Chief Medical Officer Y S Sachan.

While passing the order the division bench comprising Justices Pradeep Kant and Rituraj Awasthi directed to file the status report on July 12.

The court has sought a status report on the FIR lodged at Gosaiganj police station on the complaint of doctor Sachan's wife Malti Sachan.

It has also sought a status report of the judicial inquiry into Sachan's death being conducted by Chief Judicial Magistrate Rajesh Upadhyaya and report on information given by the jail authorities to Gosaiganj police station on the night when the medical officer was found dead.

The PIL filed by a local scribe seeking CBI probe into the mysterious death of deputy CMO Sachan was filed on Tuesday has appealed to the court to get a report on Sachan's wife's FIR, judicial inquiry into the death and on information given by jail officials on the night the incident took place.

Subsequently Sachan was got killed in the jail, further complicating the case which required to be probed by the CBI.
