A Facebook page on the father of the Indian Constitution, Dr B R Ambedkar, resulted in tension in Mumbai's western suburbs of Bandra and Khar on Monday night, the police said, and added that protestors vandalised city buses, parked cars and other vehicles in anger.

More than 25 vehicles were burnt or damaged in the violence, they said. Stone-throwing was reported from Pali Naka and

Carter Road in Bandra West and also on Andheri Link road.

Though the situation has been normal since the morning on Tuesday, additional police personnel have been deployed in the areas to avoid any flare-ups.
