Telangana Rashtra Samithi chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday demanded that the Andhra Pradesh government postpone the recruitment test for police sub-inspectors in the interest of Telangana students till the Clause 14 of the presidential order is deleted.

The state government should get the Clause 14 (F) of 1975 Presidential Order that makes Hyderabad a free zone for employment deleted and postpone the test, Rao told a gathering in Adilabad district.

Telangana supporters demand that Hyderabad should be part of other Telangana districts and not remain as a free zone for employment. The Centre has decided to recommend to the President for repeal of Clause 14 (F). The SI recruitment is scheduled to be held on August 13.

The TRS president also demanded that the Congress and Telugu Desam Party leaders quit their posts again to mount pressure on the Centre towards accepting the separate Telangana demand.

The en masse resignations of MLAs in support of Telangana demand was rejected by the assembly speaker on the ground that they were done in a fit of emotion.
