Why would some one wear a towel around his face in spite of the scorching summer heat? That's the question that troubled policemen in Mumbai when they spotted Shankar Yadav, 28, who was roaming suspiciously in the Colaba area after killing his wife in Satara.

"Our patrolling officers found him roaming near the BEST Electric House building this morning, he stood out from the crowd there as he was the only person who looked overly dressed, after all who coversĀ  their face in such heat, so we took him in custody and began interrogating him. Within half an hour he confessed that he was on the run for killing his wife," said a police officer from Colaba.

According to the officials, Yadav revealed that he was a resident of Satara and had killed his wife on Wednesday night and then fled to Pune in a bike.

From Pune he came to Mumbai in a train and had been roaming in the city from Friday, said police officials.

Police officials said that Yadav covered his face as he was afraid that different police stations in the state would have already been notified about Yadav's s crime.

"He was afraid that he would be caught if policemen saw his face, so he tried to hide it behind a towel but in doing so he became the odd man out," added the official.
