Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, chairman of the All Party Hurriyat Conference, condemned the collective punishment being inflicted upon the entire population of valley for pursuing their just cause for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Two days before the all-party-delegation of parliamentarians is scheduled to visit the Valley, Mirwaiz said, " The process was accelerated after thousand of Kashmiris were able to give expression to their demand at the historic Lal Chowk rally. The entire population of Valley has been caged in their homes, an all-out war has been declared against them," Mirwaiz said.

The secretary general of the Organization Of Islamic Conference has invited the Mirwaiz to the OIC's Foreign Ministers meet of the OIC contact group on Kashmir, which includes Pakistan, Iran ,Niger, Saudi Arabia and Turkey in New York.

The APHC spokesman in a written statement said "that while the Hurriyat Conference has kept the OIC informed about the current situation in the Valley, the visiting team will reinforce the urgent need for a just and permanent solution of the Kashmir issue in the current context of grave human rights violations being perpetuated upon the people of Kashmir by the Indian State," he alleged.

The team will also impress upon the OIC to play a proactive role in persuading India and Pakistan to resolve this long standing conflict in accordance with the wishes and aspirations of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.

Mirwaiz accused the state government as well as the Central government of unleashing repressive measures to quell and crush the resistance movement and intimidate people for daring to raise their voice for their fundamental political right and defying the Indian state.

Journalists operating from Srinagar have been confined to their homes. " All that I can do is move from one room to another and take calls from fellow journalists," rediff.com's Mukhtar Ahmad said
.

Another fellow scribe from the valley is rushing to the capital with his wife and three daughters whose studies have been affected by the curfew clamped in various parts of the valley.
