Ayodhya verdict: Nirmohi Akhara to move SC to claim entire disputed land

October 20, 2010 22:04 IST
Nirmohi Akhara, the main litigant in Ayodhya title suits, on Wednesday said it will construct a grand Ram temple and will approach the Supreme Court for claiming the entire disputed land.

"Ram temple will be constructed at Ayodhya by the Nyas belonging to the Nirmohi Akhara as Ram Lalla belongs to it," Mahant Bhaskar Das of the Akhara told mediapersons in Ayodhya.

The Akhara will approach the apex court for laying claim over the entire land, he said adding the Ram Janambhoomi Nyas of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad had no locus standi to construct the temple.

Mahant was reacting to the decision of the Uchadhikar Samiti, a body of VHP and religious leaders, that said that the temple will be constructed by Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas. He claimed Nirmohi Akhara's Nyas was the authorised body to construct the Ram temple.

Mahant said Muslims were being asked to give up their claim on the land, as a mosque at the site will keep the dispute alive forever.
